Two childhood friends. One shared calling.

Friends since kindergarten, we have been bonding through childhood adventures, traditional village folk celebrations as well as deep conversations for longer than either of us can remember. But most importantly, we've always shared the same dream: to breathe new life into our beloved village of Kobylí, while honouring its soul and preserving its precious nature.

Jakub Herzán

Continuing his family's winemaking legacy, Jakub has spent years nurturing and advocating for his native Kobylí terroirs, guided by organic viticulture and biodynamic principles.

Šárka Betke

Šárka, daughter of a local micro-winemaker, left Kobylí to chase exciting career opportunities in tech across Asia and Berlin.

But wine was in her blood - by 2020, weary of the software world, she answered its call and started a natural wine distribution company.

Lacery is our homecoming, bringing us back to our roots with a shared vision to create something that celebrates Kobylí and its legacy while offering what our fast-paced world desperately needs: a place to pause, breathe, and reconnect.

Lace, the Perfect Metaphor

Inspired by the vineyard name (the site is historically called Lácary), the local folkloric couture and the patient and diligent work of our friends Tomáš and Zdena, we christened our project The Lacery.

Lace is an intricate yet delicate craft that needs time and focus – just like the careful cultivation of our vineyards, where each detail counts. It represents the art of taking time, mindfully.

Built for Generations, Not Seasons

Lace, like winemaking, is a craft passed down through generations—from mother to daughter, father to son—keeping traditions alive.

It’s rooted in our heritage: The Lacery is celebrating the unique Moravian legacy, so vividly present during our youth.

Lacery simply couldn’t be born anywhere else: just like the typical lace patterns of Kobylí, our wine reflects the personality of the terroir and the family that created it.
